| Immersing someone (in the name of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit), symbolizing identification with Jesus death (going under the water) and resurrection (coming up out of the water). See Romans 6:1-4. |

| Why did Jesus get baptized? |
| See Matthew 3:13-17 |
| To fulfill all righteousness |
| To set an example for us (see John 13:15 & 1 Corinthians 11:5; in John 13 Jesus was referring to his followers serving one another, but certainly the principle extends to baptism as well) |

| Why should I get baptized? |
| To follow Jesus' example |
| To obey Jesus' command (Matthew 28:19) |
| To identify with God's family (Galatians 3:26-28) |
| To publicly proclaim my faith in Jesus |

| When should I get baptized? |
| When I understand what it means to believe in and receive Jesus as my savior (Acts 8:35-38) |

| Does it matter where I get baptized?; |
| No! The important thing is to do it! |
